“Smoking kid”

This campaign is brought to my attention since it has become viral. I only wish that I found out about these things earlier so I can do something by sharing information. Because, what good is it if I share something that is already shared?

Nevertheless, I want to share this, even if you have seen it. Anti-smoking campaign everyone should see. I think smoking has become most acceptable addiction in society and there lies the real danger. Teens try to “be cool” and “social”, adults use it for stress relief and socializing. Cigarettes are harmful and they leave devastating consequences, so why does one start smoking? Lets not sugarcoat it, a person CAN feel left out and anti-social if she or he doesn’t smoke in any stages in her/his life in any environment. And that is what really sucks. They feel lonely because they do not share the same addiction.

Cigarettes are awful. Everyone knows that. Many people are aware of what are they putting inside of their bodies and what are they doing to their loved ones and yet, they keep doing it. Why?

My grandmother passed away from lung cancer, she was an active smoker for as long as I can remember, and while we were visiting her one day at care center my father, who also smokes, said: “I never want to end my life like this.” And yet, he continued. He did not stop. Why?

I have no answer to give to you. Maybe these kids will help people to stop smoking. I hope it will.

DIY Christmas Ornaments from yarn and rope

This year I was surfing a lot through ideas for decorating with some sort of rope or yarn… I already have grapevine balls for my tree that go regularly on it, but it is different when you can and have time to make something on your own. It’s better. 😉

I am interested in these type of ornaments because:
a) It is CHEAP. I mean, you literary spend minimal amount of money
b) It’s fun and you can make it however you like and the color you like it in.

Christmas-Star-Ornament

So, the tutorial. I was searching one for the Christmas balls and found in this video exactly what I wanted to show you. If do make time to make them on my own, I won’t have time to post and blog as much through the holidays, so I’m putting it now. 🙂

For the other decorations I have asked very nice lady from FB to send me the photos of her little – but awesome project. And she did. Thanks Višnja! 😉

So there it is:
All that you need is aluminum foil, bowl, rope, glue (glue for wood) and spray. First you put the foil over the bowl and then start to make shapes with rope soaked in glue. When you are satisfied you leave it to dry, spray the paint you want and there you go. Your very own DIY decorative bowl!

“Christmas” food :)

I found this amazing idea on FB (you can see what page 😉 ) and I will most definitely use it! I love the smell of oranges and even bought the essential oil scented like tangerine or orange I am not sure. Considering that I have app. 2 kg of both at the moment I will play a little inspired by the photo. And there goes also my love for roses. Perfect. 🙂

I don’t know about you, but here things are “heating up”. I am trying to avoid all shopping at any cost in malls because people are buying like there is no tomorrow. And next days won’t be any better. So, that means one thing – we are going to EAT through the holidays, A LOT.

I have found a lot of cute and awesome Xmas ideas for food, both salty and sweet. What do you like more? And cakes. Oh my God… We have to bake cakes… Traditionally in Croatia we eat fish on Christmas Eve, pork and french salad have to be in our Christmas meal and for the cakes we do a lot of them, different kinds. It depends. But the one my holidays are not complete are “orahnjača” (with walnuts) and “makovnjača” (with poppy). Picture below. 😀

The joy of wrapping presents ☺

The joy of wrapping presents ;)

I like wrapping presents. Ok, that is a huge underestimating. I looooooooove wrapping presents. 😀 That is more interesting to me sometimes than the actual present hahahaha…

I love making something that is not – wrapping presents so from the outside they appear to be something that they are not. My bf knows the joy of that very well. :mr green: Two years ago for his b-day I have made/bought him a custom-made t-shirt and put it in cookie package and put everything so they seem to be not opened. The funny thing is, he was actually happy with getting cookies, but could not understand why I insisted that he opens them RIGHT NOW. 😀 This year, I’ve bought him a wallet and wanted to do the big box – small box thing, when you open big box and then small and smaller… I had a lot of luck and he accidentally left his old wallet at my place and I packed everything, the big box, the paper and decoration paper inside, smaller box and inside his old wallet. He was unwrapping the thing for 15 minutes (he likes to sloooooooowly unwrap, I’m more of a cut it all person 😀 )… The look on his face when he saw his old wallet after all the trouble and laughing was priceless. I said, ok, you don’t want that one and gave him the new wallet.

So, he is quite familiar with my little scams muahahaha 😛

Anyway back to the “do it myself” part featured in this post. This was a chocolate box I wanted to turn into my master piece. 😉 I knew what I wanted on it (japanese spring flower) and found a picture. Then I sketched the outlines and painted the whole thing as I wanted. For the box I knew tempera will be a difficult choice because the material is too smooth for it. But! I wanted that kind of uneven look, somewhere more white, somewhere more black. I always tend to take on challenges… When it starts to look difficult, I go in “bring it on” mode.

Ok, and for the bow/ribbon part I found easy tutorial and it came out good. It would be even better if the material of the ribbon was softer.

This was a present I packed for my friend, I call her Princess so the little box says “Princeza”. 😉 The box is btw from a dairy spread haha 😀

Anyway this is my little joy and I have fun with it… What about you, do you like it or hate it? Tell me ☺

Water is the source of life, life itself. Like the air we breathe. We notice the importance of it only when it’s missing.

What we see as a problem, often isn’t even a bad situation compared to those truly in need. I fully support this campaign and this video is spot-on. I feel bad for not being able to help other than sending a donation in cash, which I don’t have. 😦 If you do, I encourage you to send, it will mean a world to someone. 🙂

Do It Yourself Candle Holder :)

IMG_0026

I made this awesomeness form an old hair brush

It is super simple to do and super effective to have…

Fotor121643043

Just remove the bottom of a round old brush and take out the inside. Paint the top – now bottom however you like – I was Christmas inspired so I painted it white and put some gold glitter. The tea candle would not be visible so I put three layers of styrofoam. And that is pretty much it. 😀

Fotor12164281

Last year I made a holder from a pudding plastic container hehe… i put some colored sand on the bottom, then styrofoam made into fake snow and on top a plastic snowflake. Also, I glued some decorations on the top.

p.s. If you don’t have a brush to make this you can also use a glass and aluminum foil, just pierce little holes in foil and put inside a glass, and a candle on bottom. 😉

New look with new background

I am really creative, right-minded, left-handed person so that means that I absolutely love music, art, languages etc. and absolutely hate math, chemistry, physics… 😀 Anything with numbers is generally a load on my brain, including web design and anything related. I just get REALLY bored easily, so this is actually awesome that I manage to understand how-to AND make a different background even if only for the holidays…

Stay well, love.

DIY candle holders, inspiring for Christmas

I just love candles and tea candles, they give the room kinda mystic glance… 😉 They calm me. So I give you a gallery of “Do It Yourself” candle hodlers that I found on Facebook pages I already mentioned: Creative Ideas and Diply (former Different Solutions). Also, this is a preview of what has been on my mind lately and the DIY candle holder I have done myself. 😉

Enjoy! 🙂

Meditation for the entire planet, all is ONE :)

I thought I was late… It turns out I am not. 😀 I joined in The master shift meditation early this year but missed the meditation for my hemisphere (east). But! I calculated the time zones and even tho I didn’t catch the first meditation (these are done twice, one time for each hemisphere) I will catch the second in about an hour… Weeee

This project caught my interest last year when I discovered it on Facebook and join the universal meditation. It was truly incredible experience, knowing that in that very moment, hundreds, thousands, or maybe even millions of people are doing absolutely the same… Amazing. I got the sense of whole and many small dots representing humans creating big impact through love and peaceful energy.

So, I am waiting till 9:30 PM local time in New York which will be 3:30 AM here in Croatia, but I am not too tired. 😉

Enjoy… You can of course listen this when ever you want to, it is just more special to do it with others because of that sense that you are all listening to the same voice at the same moment and doing the same things and thinking about same thoughts as if we are one. 🙂 Lovely!

The last year meditation is HERE.
