The Birds and the Fleas

Friendship isn’t about who you’ve known the longest. It’s about who walked into your life, said “I’m here for you” and proved it.” – Unknown

Halloween edition muahahahahaha :)

It is Halloween! 🙂

Since I won’t be doing anything related this year, it is reblog time! I was really pumped up about it last two years because it didn’t really catch on here as a “holiday” up until last few years… So, I carved pumpkins. And I planned costume and went to Halloween parties, but I am yet to be something scary for Halloween. I went as Audrey Hepburn, maybe that’s scary for someone. 😉

I had no blog then, but I did last year (it was 4 months old awwww) so I posted about it. Enjoy 🙂

Hi! I am in such a rush that I only have time to upload few pictures of a pumpkin I carved. 😀 I will do a detailed post when I catch the time, hopefully on Saturday… 🙂

Stay well and have a great time tonight! 🙂

Update!

Hello y’all! 😀 I finally found the time to finish this post…

A week later… beter than never. 😉

So… I’ll explain what I did:

Fotor1106181118

First I sketch the outline of mine carving of choice – cat silhouette. Then I realised that I have placed it to high, erase everything with sponge and sketch again. 😀 Second thing to do is the most annoying… Taking out the inside of the pumpkin. I have no proper tools, so I used knife and spoon, and later on smaller knife for carving. After about an hour my pumpkin was ready for carving. Despite…

DUMPLINGS WITH PLUMS by Ivy @ Ivy Mosquito

Today is a very special day… I am a first-time guest blogger in this lovely community! 🙂

This was arranged about two months ago and I am excited and happy that is finally here…my time to shine with my recipe of traditional dumplings hehe… Thank you Jhuls for having me over at thenotsocreativecook which is completely misleading because her recipes always leave me wanting more and more! 🙂

I hope you will like it. There is something special about this post also. It collided with our days of honoring the loved ones that are not around anymore (November 1st and 2nd) and these dumplings come from my grandma who I love and who has taken care of me since I was a little baby. I dedicate this to her. I will always remember you.

p.s. I am able to look at the screen for a little while so I took the opportunity and approved all of your comments and answer as many I could. I will answer to them all. Thank you for all your wishes… ❤ I miss you!

I started cooking when I was 9. I often wonder how does it feel when you did not start at an early age. I mean, some of us started just few years back, few months, or even few days back. I wonder how does it feel not being able to love cooking just because you believe you can’t cook? There’s Lori who started less than a year ago. And now, here’s Ivy who didnt like cooking about a year ago. The feeling must be really great. Right, Ivy? NOW, they rock in the kitchen. 😀

Well, Ivy here is such a funny gal and she made me smile especially when we excanged so many emails regarding the guest post. I met her at Fiesta Friday (thanks to the wonderful and amazing Angie). I was really happy when she emailed me, telling me that she wanted to do a guest post…

So exciting! ❤

I can’t believe that it has been a year since I have opened my first “New Post” page and written an intro into something I knew then it would last. I had that feeling of “everything is ready”. 🙂

img_06z57 My mother called me Ivančica (Daisy) when I was a kid 🙂 It is strange that there is no translation for “Tratinčica” (my sister nickname), those are the same flower except daisy is bigger and has bigger flowers – like i was the older sister.

In past I had two blogs, but both were for the sole purpose of passing my exams on college and I have never thought of having a blog, let alone writing on English!

It just clicked together, I just knew I wanted to share and make, and just “go with the flow”… But something happened when I started blogging.

I discovered my love…

Funeral of the last butterfly

“Humanity wake up
When would you care
Planet is for all
We have to share
Might won’t work
win if we dare
Extinction of plants
Insects, animals all admire
Greenery in gardens
Fields and shire
Everything could go
If we don’t spare
Consume less,
Don’t scare
Nature, heavens
Water, our own air”

Perspectives on Life, the Universe and Everything

I was invited
to the funeral
of the last butterfly
All the birds were there
Insects made a wreath
Queen bee sung a melancholy
Grief too great to bear
Colours already left
Now the last butterfly gone
Everyone felt so lonely
Earthlings were alone
Far away in the sky
a thunder cloud
lightning strike,
a Phoenix flew in
Tears in its eyes,
sprayed on butterfly wings
Butterfly come to life
In all our hearts
Light of her soul
removed despair
Humanity wake up
When would you care
Planet is for all
We have to share
Might won’t work
win if we dare
Extinction of plants
Insects, animals all admire
Greenery in gardens
Fields and shire
Everything could go
If we don’t spare
Consume less,
Don’t scare
Nature, heavens
Water, our own air
Wind may blow
So does rain
Last butterfly
may flutter again
I wish, hope and pray

Waking Up Is Hard To Do …

I do not know what to put focus on, because the entire post is so beautifully written and close to me… The hardest thing about this reblog was choosing the quote.

“All the romance aside, waking up is hard to do. Life can be so overwhelming for many of us that we learn to numb ourselves to the day-to-day adopting, however unwittingly, a disassociated state just to get by. As a result we don’t feel present in our experiences and our lives, and when we look back all we see is a blur. I know this to be true, for it is my experience.

To be awakened, no matter how gently, has the potential to wreak inner havoc. However, if are to be free of the over-shadowed life we must wake up and step into the light, even though it’s bound to be a bit disorienting for a while.”

“Waking up, and expanding our comfort zone, is hard to do. Still, when we land in an environment that promotes growth and surround ourselves with people who care a whole new world can open up for us. “

Musings of a Horse Mom

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

~Albert Einstein.

~*~

Just over three months ago Bear and I made a major change in our lives by moving to another barn.

The shift in awareness for us both has been dramatic. It’s almost as if we are awakening, finally getting to see our truth in the light of day. In fact, I even joked the other day that Bear is coming out of hibernation!

And I feel like Sleeping Beauty kissed awake into a new realm of magical possibility.

All the romance aside, waking up is hard to do. Life can be so overwhelming for many of us that we learn to numb ourselves to the day-to-day adopting, however unwittingly, a disassociated state just to get by. As a result we don’t feel present in our experiences and our lives,  and when we look back all we see is a blur…

Amazing Lindsey Stirling…

I was going through my old posts and feeling proud 🙂 And then I saw this gem I posted as the fourth (I think) post ever.

If you haven’t heard about Lindsey Stirling, well… Now you have. 😀

I had a phase of listening to her amazing music almost every day on my mobile phone. I remembered those times of just losing myself in the sound of violin…

Ivy Mosquito | Liberating My Creative Soul

As I already said I’m going to post all kind of content here. 🙂 Basically everything AND everyone who inspire me… And this incredible young lady is most definitely inspiring, I love listening to her music, I highly recommend her YouTube channel. 🙂

Soon to come on the blog are DIY paintings for living room and DIY table, Can’t decide which I’m gonna post first. 😉

Have a nice day, love ya.
