It seems like I’ve suddenly started to promote my country Croatia furiously haha, but I really, really love to watch Eurovision / Eurosong contests. It is one of my guilty pleasures. Don’t tell. 😀
And this year we are back, participating. With the amazing queen Nina Kraljić, who is so incredibly humble, nice and talented. She is the winner of our first “The Voice” contest. I have no idea how many years I was embarrassed by the songs that were chosen to represent us. But not this year! 🙂
I simply love love love her voice and this song is so magical. It transcends me to a different world, like a dream… I hope you like it as much as I do.
OK, 50% will do. 😛
I think this will be the shortest Daily Prompt ever. NO.
Ok, I have to elaborate… 🙂
When I read todays Prompt, I was surprised. Why? Because just last night I asked out of nowhere while we were watching the Croatia:Mexico game, “Would you go in future to find out the score if you could?” Sis straight up tells no, I tell no, dad is contemplating and says yes. Sis is moving the question on another level;
“Why would ask something like that if you wouldn’t do it and it is not possible?”
“I don’t know. Because I can?”
And we go back to game. We lost btw. And I really wouldn’t want to know that…
Past is in the past. Maybe if something so awesome happened I would relive it. But I’m not sure about that either, because that authentic reaction I would have on something awesome would not be as joyful the second time. If we are talking about changing the past if something unpleasant or sad happened… Well, we have all seen the movies about going back to past and changing things messed up the present and future. 😉
About the song… Eurovision flashback! 😀
Plus I really love Emmelie’s song Rainmaker, it puts me in good mood. That’s it folks for todays Feel-good Songs Challenge.
I am so proud of Europe. 🙂
I am so happy that my top favorites – The Netherlands and Sweden are number 2 and number 3!!! Amazing! 😀
I will be listening to the beautiful tune of Calm after The Storm from The Netherlands probably a lot… They had that something… The melody, the chemistry, the background.. Nothing was too much, nothing was missing… But, I have to admit, Rise like a Phoenix is a winner song. It has won the votes of the least expected countries.
And I loved his speech when he received the award.. He said: “This is for all of you who believe in future and in peace and freedom. You will know who you are.”
It has been truly a week full of emotions and observing for me. Thank you for reading, and I am happy my poll did not show the true winner – although I was amazed with response, over 400 people voted! I leave you with the song and message that was sent tonight – despise of wars, poverty, conflicts, politics, corruption and economic crisis. Music united us.
Tolerance and love! ❤
I can officially brag. Out of my 7 (SEVEN) favorites from first two nights you know how many have passed? Yap. Seven. 😀 Hahahahaha… Well, I can recognise a good song when I hear it, I’m glad the voters shared my opinion. I have even got more favorites from tonight and now I like 17 songs from 26 in the competition. I think that NEVER happened. Usually I like few, three or four, but this year – SEVENTEEN!
At least I probably won’t be dissapointed with winner. XD Except if Romania or Poland wins. Bleh.
I was a bit anxious of how will my favorites transfer the energy from their music videos to stage and 3/4 didn’t let me down. Who did? Cheesecake haha… Maaaan, that was some silly dancing and no effects – you can’t compete with no background and nothing, no special effects and no one on stage other than singers if you have a dance song! You just can’t… That is going to cost them in the final…
Others were amazing, Finland, Switzerland and Greece.
I have developed sympaties also for Norway, Malta, Slovenia and Austria. The transvestite man from Austria killed it. KILLED. IT. I was cheering for him to go into the finals, and he did. Really, I will have a serious problem in Saturday. I don’t know for who to cheer! 🙂
The performances from my favorites, and please try not to laugh at the performance of Belarus like I tried.
Final look at the qualified countries in Eurovision 2014 finale:
Because all of my favorites that were in the first night have qualified to the final. 😀
Sweden, Montenegro and The Netherlands. I just hope Sweden steps up in the visual aspect, otherwise their great vocal could easily fall behind of all the visual effects and beautiful backgrounds we had the chance to see tonight. I was a little worried for The Netherlands because those kind of songs usually don’t get noticed, but they have managed to transfer the vibe from the music video on the stage and it was perfect. Montenegro… I was cheering for my neighbours, especially because they haven’t yet qualified for final night on Eurovision Contests, but the song is among my favorites. But… What they brought to the stage tonight kept me staring at the screen through the entire song. So simple, yet amazing. And the girl on the “skates”…. Wooooow. 🙂
If you haven’t heard all of my favorites/songs worth listening – go to the post titled “And the 12 points go to… Eurovision Song Contest Intro”
Being all festive and tired, I share with you performances of my favorites tonight. Hope you will like them as I did.
And I want to write an entry in Steve’s Music Mix.
Here’s how it works:
Each week Steve will post 3 new questions so…
(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
(2) Say the questions aloud and press play
(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING
Wild Ones – Flo Rida ft. Sia
Hahahahaha. Ok. 🙂
“I am a wild one
Tame me now
Running with wolves
And I’m on the prowl
Show you another side of me
A side you would never thought you would see“
Primadonna Girl – Marina and the Diamonds
Hahahaahah, oh I wish!! My life would be so much easier if I was. 😀
Limbo – Daddy Yankee
So true.. 🙂 Not on heaven not in hell. I’m over that feeling and I love the way it fades…….. p.s. This song is catchy! Baila!
Did you think I would leave you without my favorites? Pffffffff…. 😉
The Eurovision Song Contest starts today (yaaaay) and today is the first semi-final night. I wasn’t to excited but I am always like that, I knew the adrenalin would hit me when I get to listen to the all entries. So I did. I listened to them this weekend, let say there are worthy competitors and of course, there are songs I just wished…I haven’t…heard.
I am happy we are not competing this year (Croatia) because the song “we” were sending were embarrassing the general population, the system of choosing was/is messed up and it is better this way. I can watch without being humiliated. XD
Of course, I bring to you my 10 favorite songs, enjoy! The are worthy of listening, although I don’t really know who is going to win. Last year the clear favorite was Denmark and the year before Sweden, but this year it is not like that… Who do you think is going to win, based on my Playlist of Crème de la Crème?
My feeling goes toward Sweden, but they won in 2012… So, maybe Greece?
Lets remember the last year winner. 🙂
