What about Valentine’s Day?

What about Valentine's Day?

Ahh… Valentine’s Day…. Can you feel the love?? No? Me neither. πŸ˜€

It is the most confusing holiday by my opinion. When you’re single, you just straight up hate it. You diss about it and go on and on of how stupid it is. When you are in a relationship, it depends. I think Valentine’s Day puts a LOT of pressure on new couples… It feels like you just started dating and then one of you has a birthday and the other is just… What do I get? Do I buy anything at all? What does she/he even like? And so on… It is stupid for the other part too, trust me. I’m talking from my own experience. It makes it even harder that the Valentine’s Day is so UNORIGINAL that it hurts. It can be original if you want it to be, but we are bombarded with roses and flowers (Which btw. what? It’s still winter…) and teddy bears, and candy, and chocolate boxes… IT FEELS LIKE A LIFE IN A GIANT RED COMMERCIAL.

If you are in a long relationship or marriage, Valentine’s Day can be a nice reminder to stop and appreciate what you have and show affection for each other by spending some quality time together.

The sentence that caught my attention in this weeks Writing Challenge was:

“…It feels strange to be explicitly against a day celebrating love and commitment.”

That is true. We don’t like how it’s made into a PR form of “BUY=LOVE”. But how do we show attention and love for our loved ones? There are many ways, and some of them are buying them stuff that will make them happy. It’s a paradox.

Maybe we should just start thinking of a Valentine’s Day as a day in year when we show gratitude for having the people we love in our lives (partner, family, friends…) and show them that they mean something to us. That we love them. πŸ™‚

I didn’t want to write a letter to my bf because – and yes I do get like this – I am afraid that if I put our love on spotlight it will get shy and run. Hahahahah, I know it doesn’t make much sense, but I never felt like this and I don’t like to talk about it so I don’t jinx it. πŸ˜€

So, he did something amazing. I asked him to write something and he agreed! I was very surprised because he is a man of doing not talking and esspecially not writing. πŸ˜€ But he did it, and it is needless to say I was touched and happy. I love you. ❀

Buttons inspired wooooo :)

Buttons inspired wooooo :)

I am listening to the song called “All I do is win” and it has a lot of woooo, so… It’s catchy hahaha πŸ˜€

I have been really button – inspired, I have a few amazing ideas (in my head) for DIY projects and it makes me happy when everything feels right for me to work on them. And then share. πŸ™‚

I had few of back sides to earrings and a ring with a rose glued on it from a friend who kindly gave me a bag of material for my DIYs. Thank you!
So, I removed the rose ( that was hard but I’ve promised her that I will include her in my future DIYs ) and also carefully removed the zircons from back side of earrings – I do not know how that is called.

I have been searching for cute and unusual buttons around the house and now I see I will have to go shopping, since none of them match one of my project. This pair – ring and earrings was first, just to see how it will go… I wanted a red ring, really red and big. So, I found transparent button and two smaller ones, also transparent. Perfect!

Steps are so easy…Β I glued buttons to the back, then added two layers of red nail polish. In the end I added small decorations used for nails. πŸ˜€ I love it! Not only do I have the red ring I wanted, I can remove the color when I don’t like it anymore and color the ring and/or the earrings into… I don’t know… blue! Weee… Or should I say wooooooo hahahah πŸ˜€

Am I inspired today or WHAT?? Three posts… So, I was creative (in my mind) and fashionable (in my mind) and I remembered Polyvore! Ha! I could put the things that I was interested lately (in my mind) into a visual project. Yay! As I made the profile and surf through all this items I realised that I will try to – from now on, find items that are affordable (not like in this one – more than 1000 KN for a blouse… Whaaaaa :S) Anyhowdily, that’s it. I hope you like my vision of what I have the intention to buy, of course not by those prices.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Layers | Rose

Weekly Photo Challenge – Layers | Rose

I am again late with this one, but I guess it takes time for me to form an idea that is personally connected to the week’s theme, rather than just post some random photos. And that’s ok. πŸ™‚

Why rose? Roses are my favorite flowers, the way they look, smell, colors… I really love them. Maybe that’s cheesy, but I always love to get a rose. I like other flowers, don’t get me wrong, but none of them are so dear to me like roses.

In this week photo I wanted to capture the contrast. Beautiful orange rose compared to a bit cruel weather conditions. Because really, the only reason the rose is alive is because she’s inside, well cared for. Outside is much too cold for her to even spread her layers of pedals, and in addition it was foggy last night when I took the picture. No way she would survive, but she is very much alive thanks to the fact she is nurtured. πŸ˜‰ Like any human, she needs care and good environment in order to blossom. πŸ˜€

I have two other photos of roses very dear to me because they were gifts for special occasions. Enjoy. πŸ˜‰
