Today’s Prompt is actually my secret wish, and no matter how much times I get big bouquet of flowers (usually roses, my favorite) I still love it and want more. The only thing better than that would be flowers in the bowl so they can grow not just blossom and die. Well that’s a buzz kill.
I really would like to receive them delivered, or they could magically appear while I was sleeping, or in a place i wouldn’t expect… I guess the wish is no secret now. 🙂 Also, the person I would like to get them from is no secret either. ❤
I was busy busy busy in the holidays, as everyone else. And I had a plan to post some things on blog which I managed, but I did not had time to properly sit down and go through my Christmas photos. Especially the decorations I made! I posted about amazing Do It Yourself ideas for the holidays…and I have tried one! 🙂 – The rose from orange/clementine one, of course, hehe.
It ended up being very easy to make so we continued to make them for decoration even after Xmas. And by “we continued making them” I meant that I forced everyone to peel oranges like this. Poor people. 😀
I love how this decoration is visually very appealing with its bright orange color, plus the scent of freshly peeled orange fills the space… I recommend using it while the orange season is still here.
I know you are dying to see how I incorporated peeled oranges into decorations for holidays, so I’ll grant your wish. 😉
I wanted to do a video-marathon today of some of the videos I have watched recently. Thank you Spiritbath and thank you internet. There are good, kind and amazing people on this planet we call our own, and they (we) are trying to make a positive change and think with their own head. I love it! I hope you will find something for you… 🙂
I want to inspire you, make you happy, make you smile and just boost your mood. I hope I can. 😀 I chose famous Charlie Chaplin’s speech for featured video because it is the king and queen of inspiration. It is the main thought of what the people on other videos are showing and trying to achieve.
I am again late with this one, but I guess it takes time for me to form an idea that is personally connected to the week’s theme, rather than just post some random photos. And that’s ok. 🙂
Why rose? Roses are my favorite flowers, the way they look, smell, colors… I really love them. Maybe that’s cheesy, but I always love to get a rose. I like other flowers, don’t get me wrong, but none of them are so dear to me like roses.
In this week photo I wanted to capture the contrast. Beautiful orange rose compared to a bit cruel weather conditions. Because really, the only reason the rose is alive is because she’s inside, well cared for. Outside is much too cold for her to even spread her layers of pedals, and in addition it was foggy last night when I took the picture. No way she would survive, but she is very much alive thanks to the fact she is nurtured. 😉 Like any human, she needs care and good environment in order to blossom. 😀
I have two other photos of roses very dear to me because they were gifts for special occasions. Enjoy. 😉
As promised, here it is: my very own version of this:
What did I need?
Old jeans that I don’t wear anymore, sewing machine and blue tread, blue zipper, old shoulder strap, silver chain and metal clasps I bought in hobby art shop and flower of my choice. I bought blue sparkly rose because hey – it is blue sparkly rose. 🙂 I bought it at a chinese shop and it was a part of headband so I bought two. You’ll see what I did with them in the pictures. 😉
First I took dimensions for my new bag, and by taking dimensions, I mean using top of the plastic container hahahahaha. 😀
Next step was sewing. I had a tough time with denim, constantly stretching out of its place… But, again, test for my patience. 🙂 First I sew the middle part to see how much space will I need to fit the shoulder strap from another bag in.
After I sew one side it really became tricky to sew, but I made it. 🙂 I forgot to sew zipper first (of course), so I had to unstitch it and improvise a bit. That’ s why I’m not completely happy with the zipper part. Also, I put on some glue on the sides of zipper to hold it in place. I can’t remember when exactly I sew on the rose, I think after everything was done. What I did with the rose? I took it off the headband and removed the bow that was in the middle and replaced it with white pearl bead. I did the same with other headband, and I glued the bow to the headband I took rose from. That left me with matching headband and purse.
This was pre-blog era, so I’m lucky I have ANY photos of making this purse. I made it a year ago and it is still as it was the first day. It is disproportionately because of denim stretching and pulling the strap inside, but I like it that way. It’s more unique to me. 🙂
